Water: Makes You Fat Or Helps You Lose Weight?

Can water make you fat?
 It sounds absurd, since it's said to be one of the secrets to weight loss.  Some people claim that their water consumptions makes them gain weight. Let's take a look at that.

 At a basic level, whatever you put down your throat increases the weight of your body right away.

Straight and simple, water can't make you fat, but if that's all you're putting into your body, you're slowing your metabolism down to the point where you're not burning any fat. 

However, according to NetDoctor, there has been a study about tap water and weight gain.  Around 10% of UK tap water is fluoridated, and even though it's good for your teeth – it's not so good for your waistline.  Fluoride can cause individuals to gain weight because it makes it difficult for the body to absorb iodine. Therefore, our metabolism is slowed down. 

But still, water retention is different. During times of dehydration your body instantly stores water near and around your vital organs. This is a safety mechanism to make sure proper organ function in times of drought. Water weight just means your stomach expands, but don't fret, because it will recline again shortly. 

 Adding more water to your diet will help you lose weight a few ways. First of all, it's a hunger suppressant, you will not be as hungry when drinking water all the way through the day as your stomach will continually have something flowing through it. Second, when your body realizes it is getting enough water, it will allow you to let go retained waters from your cells during digestion.

Believe the experts, water is the single most important aspect of nutrition.  Drinking more water each day can help you slim down. Water makes you feel full, without adding any calories to your diet. Water also cleanses your system.

 

If you stop drinking enough water your body will be thrown out of balance. You may experience weight gain, fluid retention and loss of thirst. To keep a healthy weight, eat healthy foods, exercise, and keep drinking water.
